Driving north one hour from Falkenberg you will find Gothenburg, the city home of our friends. We enjoyed their hospitality and staying in their home for a few nights, getting the true local experience!
Gothenburg is a very laid back city, and easy to navigate on foot. There are many traffic circles, and fully separate lanes for bikes and walking. Just be sure to look both ways when crossing over the bike lanes because they don’t stop!
We also visited the home of their son, just outside the city but feeling like a tranquil home in the countryside. Beautiful!!
Then, we drove about a half hour north of the city to the archipelago islands, and the seaside village – Marstrand. There is a 17th century fortress atop the hill. We did a walking trail around the island overlooking the North Sea.
